HMS Peer Leaders recently visited all six elementary schools in Hillsborough where they met with 2nd graders to share a message of friendship, inclusivity and anti-bullying. The peer mentors read the book "Strictly No Elephants" by Lisa Mantchev to the class following up with probing questions and discussion about the characters in the story and how they treat the friends and others in their lives. Together, the HMS mentors and 2nd graders worked on crafts related to the story to reinforce the concept of friendship and acceptance and build their relationship across the grades.
